Jarosław Stróżyk
Chief of the Military Counterintelligence Service, Poland
Brig. Gen. PhD Jarosław Stróżyk started his military career in 1991 in the 11th Armoured Cavalry Division after graduating from the Military University of Land Forces. In 1996 he joined the Polish Military Information Services and after its dissolution in 2006 he pursued his career as an intelligence officer in the Polish Military Intelligence Service. From 2010 to 2013 he served as a Deputy Director in the Intelligence Directorate / Joint Intelligence and Security Division, International Military Staff in the NATO HQ, Brussels. From 2013 to 2016 he served as the Defense Attaché of the Republic of Poland in Washington, United States. Following his retirement from the military service in 2016 Gen. Stróżyk continued his academic career as a lecturer at the Baltic Defence College in Tartu, Estonia. He earned his PhD degree in the field of security studies in 2019. The same year he became assistant professor in the Institute of International Studies at the University of Wroclaw. In 2017 he became the vice-president of the Stratpoints Foundation for Security and Development. After taking the post of the Chief of SKW on December 13, 2023 Brig. Gen. PhD Jarosław Stróżyk returned to the active military service. He continues his academic work as a lecturer at the War Studies University in Warsaw.
