Dr. Pål Jonson is the current Minister for Defence of the Kingdom of Sweden, assuming office in 2022. He has been a member of the Riksdag since 2016. Dr. Jonson boasts extensive experience in defence and security, having previously chaired Sweden's Parliamentary Committee on Defence, served as Secretary-General of the Swedish Atlantic Council, and worked as Communications Director of the Swedish Security and Defence Industry Association. He holds a Ph.D. in War Studies from King's College London and has served as a conscript Combat Diver within the Royal Swedish Navy.
